The Macintosh LC II was a part of Apple Computer's product family of low-end consumer Macintosh personal computers in the early 1990s. The LC was thought, by users to represent "Lacking chip" due to the lack of an FPU or floating point unit. It did however refer to "Low cost Color". The LCII was the commercial version, released also as the Performa 400 and Performa 405 for the consumer market. The Macintosh LC II was released in March 1992 and was discontinued one year later.
