iTunes 2 was an early version of the now ubiquitous jukebox application developed by Apple Inc. in late 2001. iTunes 2 was available on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. It installed a System Extension that was visible during Mac OS's start up screen. But iTunes was only working with the Mac.
iTunes 2 was years before the iTunes Store and therefore you cannot access the iTunes Store through this version. However, the familiar iTunes Library, Playlists, and Radio Tuner are available. The Radio Tuner feature still updates itself with the current Apple-chosen radio stations.
iTunes 2 supports three audio formats: AIFF, MP3, and WAV.
