DigitalColor Meter is a utility from Apple Inc., included with Mac OS X. It is located in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder on the Mac OS X startup disk.

Using this utility, users can discover the exact colour value of any pixel on the screen. Its application is widespread: colour matching, colour Hex codes come to mind.

With DigitalColor Meter on, point to any pixel on the screen (or adjust the aperture size first, if you feel inclined to do so). The colour values are displayed instantly; you can switch between RGB percentages, absolute values or Hex readouts. By pressing command-C, the value of the pixel you selected will be copied to the clipboard.
