A blessed System Folder is a properly-working, valid System Folder which will start up a Macintosh.

As of System 7, the icon of a Macintosh (compact classic Mac) appears on the folder icon of a valid, blessed System Folder.

Necessary Components

A blessed System Folder should contain the following items:

System 1 through System 7.0.1 (with Tune-Ups installed)

From System 1.0 through System 7.0.1 (with Tune-Ups up to System 7 Tune-Up 1.1.1 installed), the minimum requirements for a blessed System Folder include:

System 7.1 and later

Beginning with System 7.1, an Enabler scheme was struck upon; all Macs need a valid System Enabler file (appropriate for their model only) in addition to the Finder and the System file.

New World Macs

New World Macs need these files in addition:
