The Asia Text Extras folder is present under Mac OS X as an organised subfolder inside the main Utilities folder. Under Mac OS 9, it was spraodically left in the Utilities folder (inside the Applications (Mac OS 9) folder.)

Its use is mainly linked with the application of Asian text on the Macintosh, especially Chinese (traditional and simplified characters), Japanese and Korean.

As of Mac OS X 10.3.7, it contains the following items:

A Plugin Text Sample folder with three Chinese language-related documents is also found inside the main Asia Text Extras folder.
